The essence of the game, what makes it 'Unique' imo, is that you are a single fighting entity on a massive map with many allies and enemies and you command your troops WHILE you are yourself in person in combat. The cultures are really fleshed out, the weapons feel good, riding feels even better than in warband, and the entire core game loop (fight, loot, upgrade, fight) feels mechanically great. I think a fifth crucial problem you are missing is the role of the castles and army logistics overall.
Like you cant upgrade to sharpshooter if the citys armourer is low tier. Even that can be layered with the tier of armourer of the city. So one should either buy large amounts of good armors from a city or possess a city to recruit armoured units. Historically good quality armors were supplied from cities. If they get depleted, they get sacked etc it should take a long time to replenish.Īlso I think having armoured units from villages should be revised. Villages should have a manpower mechanic. I feel like the warband battle numbers were appropriate for the current Bannerlord engine(while warband engine was also insufficient for warband troop numbers). I think battle sizes often end up being too large for the engine anyway. The game needs to find a way of making battles more crucial.
Thats a pretty crucial list, I congratulate you.Įspecially number 4 is often overlooked.
